ThingsCon updates

Just a quick round of updates re: ThingsCon, our global community and event platform around internet of things (#iot).

First, over on the ThingsCon we wrote up a quick review of how 2016 has been shaping up. Spoiler alert: The move towards a more global footprint through local community events has been working brilliantly thanks to our lovely local hosts. More details on the ThingsCon blog.

Second, in related news, we’re looking to extend the team with a few volunteers.

In order to take ThingsCon—both the conference and the global community—to the next level, we are looking for hands-on support in some areas: – Communications & social media: Blog posts, Facebook, Twitter – Funding support: Identify grants and other sources of funding and prepare the paperwork, or support us in doing it – Volunteer coordination: Find and coordinate with volunteers leading up to and throughout the event – Graphic & web design: Make the event shine through digital graphics, stickers, posters, and support local community hosts with visual assets Other areas might be possible depending on your skills and interests

These are volunteer positions with relatively low time commitments; if you want to be part of something larger and ambitious, talk to us. Again, more details over at thingscon.com.
